We encourage participants to book directly with our sponsors at Discovery Parks Ballina, where a discount may be available for Rainbow Dragons regatta participants. The Homestead Motel and the Ballina Colonial Motel also support our Club and we encourage accommodation bookings directly with these providers.

Rainbow Region Dragon Boat Club held its inaugural regatta in 2013 on the beautiful Shaw’s Bay, Ballina. This location provides safe sheltered waters adjacent to the Richmond River, with expansive shores surrounding the bay for optimum viewing of dragon boat racing. Our regatta is held in August every year at the same location and is attended by many dragon boat clubs from across northern NSW and SE Qld, providing plenty of fun and friendly rivalry.

We encourage community groups such as schools, sports clubs, corporate organisations, etc to participate in our community challenge event at our regatta. All equipment is provided and pre regatta training is offered during the month prior to the regatta. It’s a great way to enhance team building for your group.
